This is what happens when a monster moves in.
It starts out small – just a tiny, baby thing with a couple of dull teeth poking through its gums. Claws too small to break skin. A thin layer of fur the texture of velvet.
When it yawns, it’s almost cute.
You don’t believe it can do any real harm, so you let it curl up somewhere in your ribcage to take a nap. Most of the time you forget it’s even there.
